Games Publisher Little Orbit have today announced that they have entered a publishing agreement with Dreamworks Animation to act as publisher for the upcoming How To Drain Your Dragon 2 videogame, a game based upon the upcoming 3-D animated film of the same name.
Featuring characters from the film players will have to embark on a quest to become the greatest dragon rider, along the way taking part in the dragon flight school which is filled with tournament events, challenging mini-games and exciting training exercises. It’s a game designed at fans of the franchise and younger gaming auidiences but securing this publishing agreement has Matt Scott, President of Little Orbit, and the rest of the team pretty excited:
“We’re fortunate to work with DreamWorks Animation on such a treasured franchise. The How to Train Your Dragon 2 video game will make a great companion piece to one of the most highly-anticipated films of the summer.”
While Little Orbit will act as publisher it is infact Torus Games who is developing the title, furthermore it is european division of Bandai Namco Games who will be distributing the game within the UK and Europe, so as you can see a lot of different companies are involved with it’s production and distribution.
Either way, How to Train Your Dragon 2 the video game will be available for the Xbox 360, 3DS, Wii, Wii U and PS3 later this year with the film itself being released into Cinemas on the 4th July 2014.
