EA has today unveiled Battlefield 4 at this years Game Developers Conference (GDC) Event and that it will be released onto current-generation consoles, such as the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 later this year.
According to EA, Battlefield 4 will be developed by DICE, developers of the previous Battlefield games and it will run on the newly improved Frostbite 3 Engine offering clear visuals and destructive surroundings.
In addition to the announcement, EA also showed off a 17 minute gameplay trailer showcasing the game in action with real in-game graphics. The gameplay trailer is entitled ‘Fishing in Baku’ and is taken from the Battlefield 4 Campaign, whereby players must evacuate American VIP’s from shanghai.
Battlefield 4 has been confirmed for release on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC with pre-orders already available, and for those who pre-order they will receive access to the ‘Premium Expansion Pack’. The game itself will be released sometime in the Autumn, but an exact date has yet to be confirmed.
