It has recently been revealed that Namco Bandai Games, in conjunction with Nintendo, will shortly be releasing the third installment into the Mario Kart Arcade franchise, and that this latest game will feature gameplay elements taken from the Nintendo 3DS game, Mario kart 7.
According to an article at NeoGAF, the latest Mario Kart Arcade installment will be entitled “Mario Kart Arcade Gran Prix DX”, or Mario Kart Arcade GP DX for short, and it will feautre a Gran Prix mode (single player), Co-op mode (two players), “Clone” Battle mode (single player), and four player Competitive mode.
In Addition to the gameplay modes Mario Kart Arcade GP DX will feature High Definition Visuals as well as the return of the Avatar Camera, a Camera which takes a photo of the player and uses it as an Avatar during gameplay.
This third installment into the Mario Kart Arcade franchise will feature standard ‘Mario Kart’ gameplay, but in an Arcade environment, however improved racing features will include the ‘Gliders’ and ‘Underwater’ sections which were first seen in Mario kart 7 on the Nintendo 3DS.
Mario Kart Arcade GP DX will first get shown at the Japan Amusement Expo on the 15th and 16th of February 2013 and then will shortly be released in Japanese Arcades. Its currently not known whether the game will be released into Europe, but the previous games are currently available within Europe.
