Namco Bandai Games have today announced that ‘Tekken Card Tournament’ a brand new tekken based card game, will be released onto the PC and Mobile Devices, for FREE, within the next few weeks.
According to Namco, Tekken Card Tournament will be a ‘Free-To-Play’ online card battle game for your PC, Tablet and Mobile device, with physical booster packs, in the form of AR Cards, also being made available to further enhance the gameplay experience.
While the game will be released in the next few weeks, the physical game booster packs won’t be available at retailers until later this year, however the cards can be played as a standalone card game, or added into the players’ virtual game deck by scanning unique QR Code’s printed on the card. Scanning the game cards will give upgrades to online game characters or add a new character to the roster. Additionally the Augmented Reality feature allows Tekken to come to life by using a QR Scanner on your Smartphone or Tablet device.
The digital card game can also be played as a standalone game, allowing players to enter the King of Iron Fist tournament by competing in this unique free-to-play game set within the Tekken universe. The digital game will offer a unique gameplay experience but also offer amazing visuals on all devices, with multi-format combat also being on option.

“By bringing the Tekken universe into the game card world and especially through this unique project we hope to offer to Tekken fans and game cards players a unique experience”
Tekken Card Tournament has yet to be given an ‘official’ release date, however it will be released onto a variety of mobile devices, such as iOS and Android, as well as the PC Platform within the next few weeks. Physical booster packs are expected to appear within the year at many online & local retailers.
