Ubisoft have today announced that Splinter Cell: Blacklist, the latest game in the Splinter Cell franchise, has been delayed and that it will now be released onto the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on the 20th August 2013.
According to the publisher the reason for the delay was so that developers had more time to ‘polish’ the game up, so that the developers can live up to the expectations of the Splinter Cell fans, as senior producer, Alex Parizeau explains:
“We’ve said it before, but this truly is the biggest game in the series – it has a huge scope. We’ve created a massive amount of content across all the game modes, from single player, to co-op and multiplayer, and we feel strongly that the game will benefit from taking the time we need for polish.”
Along with the announcement of the game’s delay, Ubisoft have also confirmed that anyone who pre-orders a copy of the game will receive additional pre-order bonuses in the form of in-game DLC.
Exclusive Cooperative multiplayer map.
Upper Echelon Suit:
Better Protection and gunfire and blends into the shadows.
Gold Sonar Goggles:
Tactical imaging leaves enemies nowhere to hide.
In addition to the Pre-order Bonuses (and news of the game’s delay) Ubisoft have also released a brand new gameplay trailer showcasing some of Sam Fisher’s new gameplay mechanics.
